We will drive up to the top of Doi Suthep Mountain to visit the temple perched on its peak. Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, one of the most important religious destinations in Chiang Mai, built in 1383.
You can climb 309 steps to reach the pagodas, or there is a cable car.
See the marvelous golden pagoda which contains the relics of the Lord Buddha.
Here we will see the sunset with stunning views of Chiang Mai in the evening and watch the crowds come to pray.

Wat Prathat Doi Suthep
Doi Suthep Temple as people usually call it, was founded in 1383 when the first chedi was built.
Over time, the temple has expanded with the building of many more holy shrines. The road to the temple was first built in 1935. The road to reach the Temple is a sinuous mountain road that climbs for 15 km from the bottom of the mountain. To access the temple entrance there is a long staircase with over 300 steps, or as an alternative, one can climb a short cogwheel train to the top. Before entering the temple ground, visitors must take off their shoes and be dressed politely. Doi Suthep Temple is the most revered temple in North Thailand. It features a tall copper plated chedi seen on nearly all Chiangmai postcards. Within the temple ground one can see many shining shrines, bells and various statues. Scenic views of Chiang Mai can be seen on the other side of the temple, when the sky is clear occasionally.
