Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Chiang-Mai and transfer to the city

Individual arrival to Chiangmai Airport. Meeting with your Active-Thailand Guide and transfer to your selected hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure or you could take an optional tour.

Day 2: A day of Chiangmai city tour and culture discovery

08h30 meeting with your tour guide and depart from your hotel. We start touring Chiang Mai with a walking tour of the old downtown quarter. Visit the most famous temples where you can make merit at the local temples Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. Continuing to Chiang Mai’s Chinatown, “Warorot Market” a place to see the real Chiang Mai, you can find almost everything! Explore the maze of indoor and outdoor stalls, enjoy the chaos and colors of this traditional local market. Be ready to bargain, it is after all part of the fun!
We will enjoy a lunch of the most sumptuous dish in all of Asia, the Kao Soi, which you can’t miss. This soup is made with a rich coconut curry, tasty chunks of chicken, and both wet and crispy noodles. Pure heaven!
In the afternoon we will drive up to the top of Doi Suthep Mountain to visit the temple perched on its peak, Wat Prathat Doi Suthep. This temple was built in 1383. Visit the marvelous golden pagoda that contains the relics of the Lord Buddha.
Here we will see the sunset with stunning views of Chiang Mai and watch the local Buddhist people come to pray.

Day 3: Visit Mae Sa valley, the elephant camp and orchid farm

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart at 08h30 for a drive to the lush tropical forest of Chiang Mai’s Maesa Valley, one of Chiangmai’s main tourist destination. We will visit there an elephant camp the Maesa Elephant Camp, home of the largest assembly of elephants in northern Thailand. The Maesa Elephant camp’s philosophy is to create a natural and healthy environment for the elephants while working to conserve and breed them, due to the dwindling number of Asian elephants left in the wild. Participants can see the elephant show where the pachyderms demonstrate their skills with great “circus-like” performances. Also observe baby elephants at the nursery, and watch elephant bathing in the stream flowing through the camp.
Optional: Experience 1 hour elephant’s back riding through the surrounding jungle.
After the visit, we continue our exploration and discovery of this wonderful valley and our next stops are an Orchid Nursery and Butterfly farm where you can enjoy exotic year-round blooms and special butterfly enclosures where tropical species can be seen in a natural environment.
12.00 Drop off at your Chiangmai hotel or at Chiangmai Aiport for your departure flight.
